Bum in gear girl !

Oh my - I've just seen the last time I posted.  That's so bad.
I needed to make a card for a local competition at Busy Bee Garden Centre and so I picked up Sketch Saturday's sketchtastic sketch for this week.  A nice simple design - I likey.
And I love this little design from Tiddly Inks.  I played about with the PNG image and got rid of the frog.  Do you like my small green stars?  Get this - they are from a nail art kit from the 99p shop.

Anyway - wish me luck for the Busy Bee card comp.  As well as Sketch Saturday - this one's going in to Dream Valley's non traditional Christmas challenge

Ice Cream Sundae

I was asked to do a 10th wedding anniversary card.  10 years is tin and I was left uninspired.  I guessed the next best thing to do was ask the person who wants the card which design she liked.  She picked the image from one of my favourite places...Kenny K.  The card just screamed ice cream sundae colours.  So it's a little a bit off the tin theme....but ssssh...don't tell them ! The lovely Kenny K is also the sponsor over at Fashionista Challenge.  It's an anything goes challenge.  It's my first time with them after I fell across their challenge blog the other night.  Looks like a hoot over there so I hope to be a regular visitor to that one.
Sketch is from Sketch Saturday.  Oh you guys - I do love thee.  OK - it's not an exact match....but we're not telling anyone...right ?!
It's not my best...but I'm learning all the time...and hey it would be no fun if I was totally great all the time.

You know how we're not telling anyone ?  Well there's a think pink theme over at Kenny K's Krew.  Do you think I might just scrape through with this one ?  Well if I don't it doesn't matter because pink makes you think...and it has reminded me of my loved ones that have suffered from breast cancer.

As clean as it gets

Oh I really should get my bum in gear - I used Sketch Saturday's sketch and then didn't enter it in time.  The weather was too nice to be playing about with the blog and challenges.  I am in time for Passion for Promarkers with their Clean and Simple challenge, and I Love Promarkers' challenge of Occupations.
My friend's daughter is soon to be 18 and wants to be a vet nurse.  I found the ideal image at PJG Scrapbook Heaven.

Life's a Beach

Another leaving card to do for work.  Gosh seems to be the year for it.
I fell in love with the digital image by Hannah Lynn some time ago.  It's one of those pictures that reminds me of school and colouring between the think bold lines.  I coloured her for well over 2 hours.  How glorious is that - to love colouring so much you just lose 2 hours in thoughtless freedom.
The sketch is courtesy of Sketch Saturday.  Thank you - it's a lovely base as always.

As well as entering Sketch Saturday I am entering this in to I Love Promarkers for this week - an anything goes week.

G'Day !

I was asked to create a card this week for a family that is just about to gain Australian citizenship.  There's not many Australian digi stamps around I can tell you.  I did find this one over at Make it Crafty...and the rest of the card followed.  The sketch is courtesy of...as always...Sketch Saturday.

I wish the Wollacott family good luck.

Sarah's Leaving for a baby...

I was asked to do a baby leaving card for a colleague, so here's what I produced

Stars, Stripes and Union Jacks

An old school friend asked me to make her a card.  She used to live here on the Isle of Wight and now she lives in the US.  She makes lovely jewellery under the name of Suki Bijoux. So this is what I came up
with using an image from Kenny K which looks remarkably like my friend.

And this can go in the following challenges whilst I am at it:

And the following picture is one of Suki's creations.  Isn't it fab.  I love it.

Life's a Beach

Sometimes I wonder how far I can stretch a sketch - then I see the other cards entered either by the DT or fellow challenge hunters and I need not worry.  As usual I've used Sketch Saturday's sketch.  Lovely one this week - simple.  I like simple - it's effective.  A bit of hunting through my ever growing pile of oddments I found some gingham that also gives me the chance to enter over at Passion for Promarkers

Fairy Nearly Missed it

2 hours to go - and I am determined to make it to Sketch Saturday's Challenge.  I love this fairy and so she's making a show two blog posts running.
Of course being a SC Digi I have to enter her girls' challenge too...bling is this fortnight's theme.

My camera really doesn't do her colours justice.  Might have to have another photo shoot later...but in the meantime...I've a deadline to meet.

Have a Fairy Happy Birthday

I've been commissioned to do a fairy related birthday card.  Trust Saturated Canary to come to my rescue with the design.  The sketch is courtesy of Sketch Saturday...and so I am entering in their challenge this week.  I'm also loving the anything goes challenge over at I Love Promarkers.  Oh and it's a winged theme over at Dream Valley Challenges.

And finally - thought you might appreciate a pic of Kofi - aged 10 weeks today...

Red, white and blue...again

Skin of my teeth to get this one in over on Sketch Saturday.  I can see the wet glue and fear I've really stretched the original sketch for this one.  It's a Saturated Canary theme too and of course it's one of her lovely digis.

Pearly Queeny

I had escaped the red, white and blue theme.  That was until the rain poured...and poured and found myself looking at Passion for Promarkers a little earlier in the week than I would normally do.  The mission was then on to combine their theme with Kenny K's Krafty Girlz challenge of pearls.
Rain + the need for housework = card making !
The image is courtesy of Kenny K.  I thought with her hat that she looked a bit like she could be found in "Laandon town" (a bit of a London accent going on there.)
I'm not sure whether anyone wants to know what I used...I figure you'd ask.  I just have to say though...promarkers on white flowers is the business.

Thanks for popping by.  I never thought anyone would want to read my blog, not when the competition out there is soooo good.  You guys are an inspiration and even though I don't leave a comment...I love coming to see what you've been making.

Oh - and here's a picture of my pending arrival.

Introducing Kofi.  I shall be making a lot more cards to pay for him.

Sunday 3 June 2012

Doggone it - I done him again !

The same image used two challenges running - that's bad MissyB !  I do love him though...and in my defence I needed to make another dog related birthday card so I've done the proverbial with one stone.

I certainly need to improve my picture taking.  Anyway - over in to Sketch Saturday's challenge it goes.  Again a very nice sketch this week...and I've added a little artistic twist.

Collie Flower Power

Oh collie how I love thee !

I've entered this last minute over at Sketch Saturday.  Thanks SS - love the sketch.

May Flowers at last

Oh my - I've not done a competition card for a month....that's bad.  Just as we finally see May bloom...I get the urge to stay indoors and make cards.  Not sure that is quite right.
The following sketch was via Sketch Saturday. Sadly though I missed the right week for it as I didn't read the blog correctly.  It's still a nice design though.  I'm afraid it's only one challenge then.  That's over at Saturated Canary as it is one of Krista's lovely images.  I so love the red/black/grey thing that I am not sure if I could ever colour her in anything else.

Whiter than White

Fancy Passion for Promarkers and I Love Promarkers having the same challenge this week.  White on White.  I've always admired the white cards but never been brave enough to design one...so I just had to have a go this week.  The sketch is down to Sketch Saturday.  Whilst I am at it...as it's a Kenny K image...I'll give their challenge a go too.  Kenny's Krafty Girlz gave a challenge of one image, two papers (I used two different embossed papers) and three embellishments (lace flowers, ribbon and gems).
